The Basso quote is a good guide for anyone's business or career. Getting paid to play means finding a way to make a living from something you would do for fun. That doesn't mean every hour of every working day will be a delight. There'll be times of challenge, let down, and struggle. But unless the central the part of your work is fun, you're unlikely to be successful.
